NP Rank:
Man wanted after nurse found in car boot
Nurse Magdeline Makola, disappeared at the end of her shift at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh on 15 December, 11 days later [yesterday, Boxing day] police found her in the boot of her own car alive.
She was suffering from hypothermia and dehydration could have been there for up to 10 days.
Strathclyde Police said Ms Makola was "severely traumatised" and officers could not fully interview the 38-year-old at first. They said that they wish to speak to a black man, aged between 20 and 40, and who knew the 38-year-old.
She had suffered minor injuries and is said to be in a stable and comfortable condition in Monklands Hospital, Airdrie.
Friends of the nurse raised the alarm after she failed to turn up for work.
When police went to her house to look for her, they found her passport and bank cards were still in her house, but her car was gone. Police later found the car and Magdeline inside the boot of her red Vauxhall Astra in Meadowside Place, Airdrie.
A spokesman said that the police were wanting to speak to a blackman about this case, though they have not gave a description of the man.
"Magdeline was discovered just after midday on Boxing Day. At the moment this inquiry is at its very early stages, and we need to establish the exact circumstances of how Magdeline came to be within the boot of the vehicle. We have come to no conclusions whatsoever on how she came to be there and how long she was in the boot for."
"We believe that the vehicle has been driven in the Chapelhall area of Airdrie, and in Glasgow city centre as well, and we want anyone who thinks they may have spotted it to get in touch."

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said detectives had interviewed the victim only briefly due to the trauma of her ordeal which ended at about noon on Boxing Day.
Physically, she suffered minor injuries and is said to be in a stable and comfortable condition in Monklands Hospital in Airdrie.
The spokesman did not provide a detailed description of the person being sought, other than to say that he was a black man.
A nurse who had been missing for more than a week was found alive yesterday in the boot of her car after a police search.
Magdeline Makola, 38, was last seen at around 8am on 15 December getting into her car outside Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where she works in the cardiology unit.
She was not traced until midday yesterday when officers scouring Airdrie – more than 40 miles away – discovered her Vauxhall Astra parked in a suburban road, and opened the boot.

that's amazing she's still alive. i guess a "boot" is what is often called a "trunk".
