Manual Arts High School Evacuated Due to Possible Bomb
Update: 3:10 pm PT - The Possible Explosive Device Has Been Rendered Safe
Previous Story:
Manual Arts High School is Evacuating Their Students Due to the Threat of a Possible Explosive Device on Campus
CNN is calling the device a 'possible pipe bomb' and ABC7 reports that students were being evacuated from the South Los Angeles high school due to some kind of explosive device possibly being located on campus. Numerous news reports cited that the school had been evacuated, but students at the school are saying that was not the case.
Due to these preliminary reports, buses on Vermont are being detoured away from the area and local bus service is being affected (map).
No further information about the incident is available at this time but we will update this post with more information when it becomes available.

I am a Manual Arts NAI student and my reaction 2 this incident was surprised about who would want 2 do something like this.Today was ironic and i was really scared. It was really ironic and whoever was the main cause 2 this incident must not have been aware that they were jepordizing their own lives and others in the school and in the area and will be found since the FBI was there.

i am an off track faculty member of manual arts and it gave me trememdous concern of how possible could anyone put such dangerous objects in there where as the security is very tight and the administrators are doing their best to make us all safe and out of the harm way...

Manual Arts, and many of the inner-city schools in Los Angeles, do not know how to handle situations like these. If there was a possible bomb threat I would not like to have been stuck inside of the school just waiting for the bomb to go off. Secondly, who would want to put a bomb at Manual??
