Marc Emery: Prince of pot repents to the U.S.A
Vancouver's Prince of Pot, Marc Emery, North Americas Marijuana seed supplier repented for his past to U.S. Judge Ricardo Martinez stating "I regret the example we set," Emery told him, "and I won't be doing that again".
Truer words ever spoken, Judge Martinez handed down a 5 year sentence to Emery to be served in a California jail.
Many Emery supporters were disheartened by the verdict, including his wife Jody.
Marc Emery stated to the Judge Martinez that "I'd like to point out though that it made it sound like I'm a bad guy . . . but I had very good intentions and wanted to be considered a proper participant in our society. I do believe that these prohibition laws create a lot of problems and create organized crime."
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency stated Emery "was one of the most wanted international drug trafficking organizational targets -- one of only 46 in the world and the only one from Canada."
Wow, one can see why! Marc Emery is up there with Colombian Death Merchants, Afghani Drug Lords and Mexican Drug Hit Squads and Arms Dealers for Drugs. My God the Man a veritable No. 1 War Criminal on the U.S War on Drugs. Stand aside Bin Laden, you have been usurped, by a Canadian Seed Merchant!
Methinks the DEA has been smoking something way stronger than Marc's product to be making such an outlandish statement! Even for me, a die hard conservative and anti drug as I am, I shake my head and go "REALLY"?
Somehow being named as one of the worlds top international drug barons is hard even for me to swallow!
U.S. District Attorney Jenny Durkan, stating Emery made "millions of dollars selling his seeds all over North America may have felt U.S. Law did not apply to him, was wrong".
Marc has stated on his website he made 4 million dollars on the sale of 3 million seeds, certainly not chump change, though the buyers paying a little over a dollar a seed were certainly chumps.
It has been said the paperwork is in place to try and have Marc serve his sentence in Canada, most likely a good probability as the previous Federal Liberal Government and past and present provincial governments and the Vancouver Mayors office must share the blame for Marc's incarceration.
Marc paid his taxes which all levels of government took greedily, knowing full well of Marc's activities which were even featured on U.S. and Canada primetime news and documentaries.
These past and present governments, liberal and new democrat governments, including left wing city of Vancouver mayors past and present are part and parcel of Marc's demise, allowing Marc to operate his illegal activities despite the U.S. who stated Marc contravened U.S. Postal laws, in addition to other laws selling illegal substances to U.S. citizens.
Can you blame Marc? No! Not when 420 rallies in Downtown Vancouver have literally thousands and thousands of pot smokers on the steps of Vancouver zoning out without consequences and only cursory inspections by police at his establishments with a wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Marc had the testicular fortitude to make a stand for his beliefs must be given his due, not like most of the real drug criminals, including those who run methamphetamine labs whose clandestine operations end up in violence and are given a slap on the wrist by our incompetent provincial judicial system.
Marc saw a niche market and ran with it, he never hid his intent, in fact he flaunted it.
If anyone should repent for past discretion to the U.S. it should be past and present governments at all levels in Canada, beginning with the Mayors of Vancouver front and centre and every British Columbia judge who released hardened drug criminals back onto our streets with a slap on the wrist.
If only the U.S.A could see that and had the cajones to state that fact in the media, but no, as they (DEA and U.S. Attorney) would rather wipe the once smug smile of a lone seed seller who embarrassed them to no end.
The U.S. are sentencing the wrong man.
