“News Alert: Dow Jones industrial average drops more than 500 points
August 4, 2011 4:09:13 PM

The Dow Jones industrial average plunged more than 500 points Thursday in its largest one-day drop since the financial crisis, triggered by fears of another recession in the United States and a deepening European debt crisis.

Nanny nanny we solved our debt crisis.

This has more to do with the TEA Party ransom, in the form of budget cuts, that the market finds problematic.

The TEA Party doesn't seem to understand that for all of their concerns about socialism, for all intents and purposes, the global market and the money therein IS socialized.

Investors with big money do not only watch the market here nor leave their money sitting idle over night while the U.S. sleeps.

Those with money influence society all over the world for THEIR monetary benefit.

That is correct, Karen. Debt was a problem, but not the first one. Capital is needed to move the economy.

Jim, the world recognizes that what Eric Cantor and the minority Republican TEA Party extracted as ransom for the U.S. government and the world economy doesn't bode well for the future of markets around the world.

This most recent hostage negotiation lasted for six months. This latest deal is set to allow the Republican TEA Party to take the country hostage again in November of this year.

Based on the lack of good faith shown by minority Republican TEA Party this month and how those cuts will impact the markets, the world is bracing for an even more calamitous forecast of future events and for what is yet to come.

The losses come after nearly two weeks of declines as evidence mounts that Europe’s debt crisis is intensifying and the U.S. economy shows no signs of rebounding soon.

Progressive liberals cry "Blame the Tea Party"

The steep stock market drop that accelerated Thursday is stoking fears that the economy is headed into a sustained downturn at a time when policymakers are particularly ill-equipped to fight it.

Progressive liberals cry "Blame the Tea Party for wanting to counter the spending and put something against the debt".

The losses, if sustained, would severely undermine the efforts of both government and individuals to dig out of the severe debt that many analysts say is at the root of the nation’s economic troubles.

Progressive liberals cry "Blame the Tea Party for the nations severe debt."

Progressive liberals are madly pointing their public trough grasping greedy fingers everywhere but at their union sponsored, big government, spend spend spend social agenda. The usual hypocrisy. In the now famous words of Mike Doyle, "This small group of terrorists have made it impossible for us to spend." [how dare those terrorist, yes anyone injecting a conservative fiscal note into the deficit discussion is a terrorist, how dare those terrorist infer that in a time of extreme national debt and unemployment we put any controls on our right to spend like drunken sailors on shore leave. As our supreme leader says, "the audacity of that hope".]

The TEA party, admittedly did not exist when the economy bottomed out, so a TEA party agenda cannot be blamed. But they are certainly not helping to improve the situation. Politicians on the Left <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />AND the Right should shut up, knuckle down, and actually start working. But heaven forbid THAT should happen, the Left and Right working together effectively, putting the needs of their constituents above their own petty squabbles? Sure the Right wing are as stubborn as a mule, and the Left wing have recently been waffling at a rate that makes the good folks at Eggo look like amateurs, and both sides seem to think that pumping water INTO the sinking ship is the best course of action, as long as the other side gets blamed for the wreck. But heaven forbid either side should stop, take a look at what they have accomplished, or more accurately FAILED to accomplish since being elected, and try to actually do something proactive. Left or Right, both sides have a responsiblity to their Nation and their people; and on both sides, there is a portion of blame to be had. The need to worry about that after the issues are solved, instead of bickering like children and digging a deeper hole to try and crawl out of later.... In fact, I will set up the Gypsy-knife-fight circle-of-death myself, and they can square off against each other, but not until AFTER they try and get the country back on track....
