Marris hail Baluch mention in Indo-Pak text
An organization that respresents indigenous Baluch tribesmen struggling to protect their resources from foreign loot and plunder and dedicated to Baluchistan's independence, has asked Pakistani troops, militia and policemen to leave Baluchistan in peace or face the wrath of the Baluch people.
An organization of indigenous people struggling to end Pakistani military occupation and loot plunder of Baluchistan has termed the recent mention of their occupied homeland in the joint text between Pakistan and India as a diplomatic victory for the Baluch people.
"We want to make it clear to the world that once Baluchistan is liberated we want to have good relations with Pakistan, India and Afghanistan and all other neighbors," the Anjuman Ittehad Marri said in a statement published in the pro-independence Tawar newspaper in Baluchistan.
Bengali intellectuals have painful memories of Pakistan and its army generals. Like the Baluch, most Bengalis are extremely secular.
General Niazi will live forever in infamy for the picture in which he was shown signing a document of surrender on December 16, 1971 in Ramna Green while seating next to a turban-clad Indian General by the name Jagjit Singh Aurora. That infamous picture had graced the front page of newspapers all over the world. The same picture was shown in many network news in America and Europe too. It brought shame to Pakistanis because General Niazi and his ninety thousand men in uniform were taken prisoner of war (POW) by the Indian army and interned in India for months.
