Mary Travers Of Peter, Paul and Mary dead from cancer
She ws the tall, winnowy blonde who set boys' hearts aglow and the folk music movement on fire.
Mary Travers, of Peter, Paul and Mary, is dead.
Mary Travers, whose ringing, earnest vocals with the folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary made songs like “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “If I Had a Hammer” and “Where Have All the Flowers Gone?” enduring anthems of the 1960s protest movement, died Wednesday night in Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. She was 72 and had lived in Redding, Conn.
The cause was cancer, said her spokeswoman, Heather Lylis.
The New York TImes has now posted a full obituary.

This is sad. I loved her voice, and listening to all the well-known songs of Peter, Paul & Mary. I will always hear her voice in these songs. Not mentioned yet is the famous "Puff, The Magic Dragon."

Shows how bloody old I am - I remember them on BBC Radio 1, when the songs were just new releases!

I liked them and in some countries their songs are still being played on a daily base in the streets for all to hear.
The music and lyrics will live on as well as the memories.
