It was another jubilant victory for the patriotic Sri Lankans in the UK when they took to the streets of London waving flags of the Lion, yesterday (June 27).

The mass Peace March was organised to commemorate the dawning of peace in Sri Lanka and to show the strength of the Sri Lankan Diaspora in UK who wholeheartedly is grateful for ending terrorism in motherland. The procession consisted of all races, faiths and walks of life upholding solidarity amidst the threats of LTTE operatives in London. Despite short notice, crowds gathered in Tothill Street since 11.30am and started moving at 1.00pm towards Embankment via Broad Sanctuary, Parliament Square, Whitehall, Downing Street, Back to Victoria, covering 2 miles of a walk

'Journey towards peace and unity in Sri Lanka, Sri Lankans lets march forward as one nation', a few of the banners read. Furthermore, the march carried a banner of President Hon.Mahinda Rajapaksa, who launched the victorious humanitarian operations with the greatest opposition of certain western countries including the UK, being under the spell of LTTE lobbyists and propaganda. Nevertheless it's common knowledge that UK extended military assistance to the armed forces of Sri Lanka worth millions of pounds Halfway through the march a petition with hundreds of signatures, addressed to the Prime Minister Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP was handed in at his residence, no.10, Downing Street. The petition recognised the British Government's support to eliminate terrorism in Sri Lanka by having listed the LTTE as banned organisation in the UK. On the other hand it spoke of shortfalls of the British government to implement the Anti-Terrorism act against LTTE supporters in UK. Further it requested the halting of all Anti-Sri Lankan activities taking place, bringing false allegations based on distorted information.

"You mean the pieces of the dead 30,000 Tamil bodies ?!!"

Those pieces are produced and consumed by the tamil diaspora who funded this terrorism.

Do you still feel the after-taste?

The Peace denied to Sri Lankans by the mass murderer Velupillai and the hate mongers who backed him in foreign lands for 30 long years. Unfortunately the hate mongers have not given up the lies and hate spreading even after the LEADER's elimination.

Can you provide the source for the 30,000 figure please?

  • conservative estimate of 30,000  ≠  30,000
  • nearly 7000 + average 1000 per day x 19 days  ≠  30,000
  • above 20,000  ≠  30,000

Come on, please give us the proper source with exact numbers!

Nevertheless.... Peace:

Peace in Sri Lanka = Sri Lanka - murderous megalomaniac V. Prabhkaran(d)

What peace ?!!

You mean the pieces of the dead 30,000 Tamil bodies ?!!

or the pieces of intentionally broken Tamil IDP families in different IDP detention camps and interrogation facilities ?!!

or the pieces of broken livelihoods and homes of these Tamils that are never focused on by the Sri Lankan government ?!!

Which piece are you referring to ?

No source Hiranya. This is plain LTTE propaganda mathematics.

The Times online article and video show the conservative estimate of 30,000 Tamils died in the last 3 months of offenses. Article and video at  "The hidden massacre: Sri Lanka’s final offensive against Tamil Tigers"

Confidential United Nations documents acquired by The Times record nearly 7,000 civilian deaths in the no-fire zone up to the end of April. UN sources said that the toll then surged, with an average of 1,000 civilians killed each day until May 19, the day after Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of the Tamil Tigers, was killed. That figure concurs with the estimate made to The Times by Father Amalraj, a Roman Catholic priest who fled the no-fire zone on May 16 and is now interned with 200,000 other survivors in Manik Farm refugee camp. It would take the final toll above 20,000. “Higher,” a UN source told The Times. “Keep going.”

The Human Rights Watch has backed up the 300,000 Tamil IDPs suffering the detention camps.

They are not getting it. The government is treating all Tamils in the north-east of the country, the former headquarters of the LTTE, as presumptive criminals. Around 300,000 Tamils are now being held in detention camps, barred from leaving even if they have family members or friends who would take them in. Many are children, elderly, or others who cannot reasonably be considered dangerous.

The Sri Lankan government or its Sympathizers are not in a position to ask for evidence as the government has denied any war crime probe and independent inquiries into Tamils death toll numbers and current IDPs casualties & their suffering.

The title must be changed  to: Sri Lankan Sinhalese in London celebrate the massacre of Innocent Tamils!

Enough sources:

Government doctors, NGO's, UN, Satellite images 300,000 survivors, eyewitnesses!

But you only believe the Sri Lankan state 'sources' claiming: "Not a single innocent tamil killed by the army". What can you expect from a media controlled by a TERRORIST STATE?

Brad brad, NP allows only one recommendation per comment per person. Otherwise I would have given you a hundred.

Brad brad, I think your name is misspelled, and your country is Sri Lanka, and Rajapaksa Bros are messing up your country. Ask the question at the right place rather than in disguise. Should have some spine, if you want to write the truth and get real answers.
