Massacre in Cleveland: suspect commits suicide

Davon Crawford, the suspect in the Cleveland massacre, who killed his wife and four of her five children has himself committed suicide.

Crawford was shut up inside his house in the bathroom, when SWAT descended on his home and he took the decision to shoot himself in the head.

A gunman has opened fire in Cleveland, Ohio, killing five people, four of them children, with one child being injured, but survived.

What started out as a domestic dispute at 1311 West 89th Street, turned deadly when Davon Crawford pulled out a gun and shot the five children and their mother in cold blood. The deceased have not been identified at this time.

WEWS-TV is reporting that police are on the lookout for a 33 year-old man named Davon Crawford. He is 6ft 1 inch tall, about 210 pounds and is wearing a multi-coloured sweatshirt. He is known to police.

19 Action News is reporting that Davon Crawford is the stepfather to these children and the adult victim was their mother. The one survivor is a child as well. Davon is currently on the run and is thought to be carrying at least one semi-automatic weapon.

Local media is reporting that at least four of the fatalities are children.

The shooting occurred at West 86th Street and Detroit Avenue.Three children were taken to MetroHealth, two of whom died. The condition of the third child is not known.Two other children and an adult were also killed in the shooting.

My good Lord! What a tragic world we do live in today. It's as though something? 100% evil is taken over these weak minded individuals. (Second Timothy's "Perilous Times") this is just becoming a little too commonplace, something is obviously very wrong here. In (1929) Chicago seven murdering hoodlums were executed courtesy of Capone. Public outcry finally ended all that escalating mob violence in Chicago. Unfortunately,we seem to be repeating history at an alarming rate too.

Yes, yes we already know what's coming next once they catch this demon possessed monster. The overwhelming question on everyone's lips will be why? although some well-paid psychiatrist will say the magic word? "mental sickness", there are many of us who now believe that this kind of murderous behavior is an act of pure evil. throwaway that "mental disorder" leaves you with a wicked individual who would've done everybody a favor, if he had not been born the first place.

My cousin lives a few houses down from there and heard the shots. It's so incredibly sad that this man killed those innocent babies but unfortunately in Cleveland (and I'm sure many other big cities) this isn't anything new. The "normal" homocide rate in Cleveland is 3 per day (which is scary to think about) and due to lack of funding, among other things, we are left with fewer and fewer police officers to keep the crazies in check =(

Thanks for the news, Amy. Now people like Davon Crawford can almost make people think twice about capital punishment. He seems to be a horrible person - killing a mom and her kids. Now one little child has got to grow up without his/her family and with very traumatic memories. I don't think I will advocate for clemency for Davon Crawford if/when it comes to that. The report says the children and mom were in various rooms, meaning this awful man actually walked from room to room or maybe chased those poor, little children and gunned them down! That's about the most evil thing I ever read or heard about!

This is one of the most HEINOUS crimes I have heard of. How do you go through the house to kill people. How do you get that mad that kill and woman and her children. I am deeply saddened

Davon Crawford murdered his wife (of 3 days and the mother of their 2 month daughter who was left unharmed in the home), his wife's sister and her 3 children and the child that survived and is in the hospital is believed to be his wife's 10 year old son.

Wow. This is so sad. It makes you wonder what was going on in his life that he would take such drastic action. What was so dark, sad, scary, upsetting, that he would think this was an answer? Everyone send all your love to the surviving little one. He is going to need all he can get.
