Most Earthquakes occur around the Pacific Rim on what is known as The Ring Of Fire. In 2008, there has been a true explosion or deadly quakes.
There are initial deaths in a lager temblor, but the aftershocks actually kill more, and this often happens during rescue efforts.
End Of The World enthusiasts are all abuzz about the prophetic implications of this increased seismic activity.

Now compare this earthquake graph to similar graphs denoting the number of cell phone masts/subscribers per year...
Subscribers per year:

Masts per year:

The electromagnetic radiation generated by cell phone masts and wi-fi antennas is likely behind this dramatic increase in earthquake activity in recent years.
And Satan is described in the Bible as being an 'angel of light'...

One thing completely lacking mention here, is science and technology. Stop to think, yeah? Really. Only recently--I mean, within the last ten years, have scientists been able to monitor earthquakes all over the world....just in the last FIVE years, technology for monitoring earthquakes has grown by leaps and bounds---coupled, I may add...by a little thing called the internet and mobile phones, faxes, etc.
Earthqakes that never registered before (say, below a 2.9), now are able to be picked up by ultra-sensative equipment that only recently came into use the last several years. Places that had no way of recording and/or reporting quake activity even just a few years ago, now are able to do so, thanks to modern technological advances.
These things quite literally did not exist before in our history. Ergo, very basic common sense should dictate that of course we are seeing an increase in reports of quakes!
Is there an increase? And is it due to global warming or some other physical force we're simply not yet aware of? Or is it that we just never noticed this before, because we weren't able to?
Then again, it could be aliens out to get us, or The Second Coming, or a government experiment?
Which of these do you think it is? Better science, global warming, the power of a deity, or evil aliens from outer space?

UMH. . . .OK Playwrite27, why don't we start with you putting away the latte and start substantiating some of the crap you are writing. So. . .when exactly we started REALLY registering the below 2.9 mag EQ, and WHAT exactly is that ultra sentitive piece of equipment that allowed that? And when did the USGS started to use the "little thing called the internet and mobile phones, faxes, etc. " to record EQ's magnitudes?

uh and Playwrite27, ERGO the graphic ONLY refers to EQ's in between 6 and 8, I betcha they are using that OTHER ultra sensitive piece of equipment to count the dead as opposed to the abbacus.

The original source is <a href="http://earthquake.usgs.gov/regional/world/historical.php">this page</a>, which is entitled "<b>Selected</b> earthquakes of general historic interest. "
If you want a count of <i>all</i> earthquakes, you need to go <a href="http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/eqlists/eqstats.html">here.</a> Total number of earthquakes of magnitude 6.0 or greater per year is:
2000 - 161
2001 - 137
2002 - 140
2003 - 155
2004 - 157
2005 - 151
2006 - 153
2007 - 196
2008 - 180
2009 - 63
Doesn't look like much of a trend to me.

Mr "ToSeek",
You are not showing "all" earthquakes, the graphic here:
http://www.nowpublic.com/world/massive-increase-earthquakes-2008-0
starts in 1900 NOT 2000. How much of a trend do you expect to find when you shaved 100 years off the graphic to suit your explanation? You wrote

That graphic does not show "all" earthquakes, either, just ones someone
subjectively thought were significant, making the data worthless. It's clear
that their hurdle for significance was lowered significantly in the early
2000's, and it's ridiculous to claim an increase in earthquakes as a result when
a moment's examination of unfiltered data proves that there was no such thing.
I used the data source I did because it did include ALL earthquakes, and because
the original claim was a massive jump in earthquakes in a single year, which I
didn't think required a hundred years for comparison.
In any case, I can easily add another ten years to the list, from
http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/eqlists/info_1990s.html
1990 - 127
1991 - 112
1992 - 179
1993 - 149
1994 - 159
1995 - 203
1996 - 164
1997 - 136
1998 - 129
1999 - 134
The average number of 6.0+ quakes per year in the 1990s was 149; the figure for
2000-2008 is 159. The worst single year among these is actually 1995, with 203.
Or, if you really need to go back to 1900, check out this list of 7.0+ quakes:
http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/eqlists/7up.html
Totals are pretty much in the teens or lower for the last 30 years, while the worst year (that I could spot) was 1950, with 39.
So where is the malign influence of Planet X in all this?

If The sun can jump, up and down, then we can say that the sun can dance.
There’s an increase of earthquakes since 2001, as in magnitude ,and if we check a list of the most harmful earthquakes listed as recent earthquakes USGS Wilipedia free encyclopedia obtain from the internet . We can see that beyond the worse ones since 2001 to 2008, there is a increase in numbers from 6 earthquakes in 2001 to 31 earthquakes in 2008. And if we add on the list the dates of the earthquakes between solar eclipses and moon eclipse, it appears that we can locate one of the worse ones between them or in some cases close to those dates . In a list of another information there is an increase of smaller once in numbers that concides when comets and asteroids come pass. But it is important to mention that comets as meteorites have something to do with all this.
