Celebration Florida: Community Developed By Disney Hit With First Murder: Matteo Giovanditto
The Disney developed community Celebration Florida has its first murder victim, 58-year old Matteo P. Giovanditto.
A statement on the said Osceola County Sheriff's Office said "Giovanditto was the registered owner of the condo located at 543 Water Street in Celebration. Earlier this afternoon, a Crimeline tip led to the vehicle found in the City of Kissimmee. On November 29 at approximately 9:37 a.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies responded to 543 Water Street in Celebration. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a witness who indicated she went to check on her neighbor and found a person deceased in the apartment."
WKMG spoke to Celebration, Florida resident Dawn Peraino.
While everyone waits to get more information, Peraino said she and other neighbors are hoping there's not a killer lurking in their quiet community.
"Everyone knows everyone. It's just a small town feel and we're very upset," Peraino said.
The first residents of Celebration, Florida first started moving in 1996. Celebration, Florida now has 9,000 residents living in 4,000 homes and condominiums.
Celebration Village, West Village and Lake Evalyn were Celebration’s first phase of development, with a total of approximately 500 home sites, including 76 townhomes, and nearly 700 condominiums. The second phase of residential development was North Village, with more than 300 homes sites and 300 condominiums, followed by South Village with over 600 home sites and townhomes and nearly 500 condominiums, and phase four, East Village and Aquila Reserve with a combined 500 homes and townhomes and 70 condominiums. Artisan Park, Celebration’s last residential phase to date, is a 160-acre village built by St. Joe Company contains more than 600 homes and condominiums.
