May 21 Judgement Day: A Hoax? Harold Camping Says World Will End
Is May 21 2011 Judgement Day? Is the World Going to End?
Harold Camping is saying the world is going to end May 21 2011. It will be Judgement Day, and while the Mayans say the world will end in 2012, Camping says that's not true.
"That date has not one stitch of biblical authority," Camping says from the Oakland office where he runs Family Radio, an evangelical station that reaches listeners around the world. "It's like a fairy tale."
His prediction about May 21 2011 cames from a mathematical system that interprets prophecies that are hidden within the Bible.
He also predicted that the world would end on September 6 1994, and Camping admitted that he 'may' have made a mathematical error.
Others have said that Camping is taking the Bible out of context and he's just crunching numbers to make his prediction seem correct.
We're not sure, but take a look at a news report from CNN that took a closer look at believers who are traveling the US to spread the word that Judgement Day is coming.

I may go up and down my neighborhood with Quit Claim Deeds for sale. The Sellers will have some extra windfall money if the predictions turns out to be true, and I guess if it doesn't....they will have the love of Jesus and I'll own their house. Instant Tenants!

I'll bet the Hire-An-Atheist for pet care because of the upcoming rapture is a booming business. That idea is inspired.

^Same, if anyone who thinks the world will end next week owns a red Convertible, I'd love to have one, and you sure won't need it in the afterlife.

Did anyone see the picture of the controversial billboard that was recently put up by another group near Family Radio’s headquarters? It directly challenges them about May 21. Here is a picture of it:www.flickr.com/photos/62779138@N08/5708063636

there's so much wrong with this article, the imaginary planet niburu was supposed to hit the earth in 2003, and when it didn't happen they switched the date to 2012 cause that's when the mayan calender ended. so no, the mayans never predicted the end of the world (they couldn't even predict the end of their own civilization let alone the world). believe it or not mr. camping, we're here for the long haul. you're just an ass clown who is proving to the entire atheist community that christianity is extremely counter-productive to modern day society; with people taking vacations, buying cars and big houses all on credit becuase of your prediction while it's no more than a "fairy tale" like all the other doomsday theorist's dates.

Okay, on the other pages , they say that 2011 is 7000 years after the year of the great flood, 4900 BC, sorry to burst yer Christian's bubbles (okay, not really, in fact, I'm very happy to disprove you.) but 4990 to 2011 is 7001 years, F*CKING 7001 YEARS!

There was no year 0 so I think it is 7000. E.g. 2bc to 2ad is only 3 years. to 1bc = 1yr, 1ad=2yr, 2ad=3yr. Not that I want to go along with it mind.

So, did God make man or did Man make god. Once our brain evolved to becoming self aware and understands mortality, we needed to make the concept of God else our minds will go nuts knowing that we only live once and that's it!! Well... we only live once and that's it. Enjoy the moment and make the most of your life. Its your one and only ;-)

This is really just a scam. It's not likely that anything will happen and I am really disinclined to believe the words of any self proclaimed prophet. I used to be related by marriage to one such idiot and he thought if we all did LSD at the same time then we would be spared from the end of the world. So I've seen the work of nut jobs and this certainly looks like another cycle of idiocy in the form of a pathetic, attention hungry old man.

Xander, if you feel a need to come online just to tell people your least favourite countries, I suggest you seek professional help.
I suspect you are just blaming these nationalities for your own feelings of inadequecy.

Hoax implies that the perpetrators knew that what they were saying is untrue. I think they believed what they were saying.
In point of fact, I believe that it happened. The rapture occurred and we're right back where we started because heaven is where we are.
If you go to church on Sunday, you will probably have your same seat because you deserved it. If a new person comes to church, don't let them have your seat. Make them sit in the back...with Jesus.

Poor New Zealand was going to cop it first. Why pick on them? Oh yes... Man made the time zones for the planet and just so happen that NZ is just after the dateline. Like Man made the time zones for practical purposes for living life, Man made god too, for practical purposes for living our life out.
