May Day Marches Continue as Several Protests Turn Violent

Thousands of people marched in the streets of a number of countries on Friday, where May Day is traditionally seen as a day of rallies by labor unions. Protests in Turkey, Germany, and Greece became violent with clashes reported between riot police and protesters.

Protests in Istanbul became violent quickly, while Greek police clashed with so-called 'anarchists'. At least 70 protesters were arrested in Istanbul and 11 police were wounded.

It is one of the toughest MAY DAY after world war two, the reason behind that is non other than the fire in the job market.The effect of recession is clearly visible, and Turky demonstration is just one of them, we will see chain reaction in months to come.

Today is World Labour Day and it is a public holiday in Pakistan. However, oblivious of May Day, there are labourers who will be working today from morning to dusk, including little children who have to earn their livelihoods.

The move back to Left wing Social Democracies and even to some extend and especially in the former East block state towards Communism is gaining in momentum and strength as well as popular support again.
