May Day Roundup by tjackson

Once again, the saying is so true for Colorado, “wait 5 minutes and the weather will change”. After high’s hitting 80 degrees on Wednesday, the end of morning rush hour was greeted with a heavy snow storm. At a local print shop, one employee spoke of having moved to Denver to get away from snow, he is from Alaska.

Yet deep down, even with the desire for warmer temps, Coloradans know that the moisture is needed to offset three plus years of drought that has hit the state.  The drought has caused many communities to force rationing of water use, during the hot summer months. Naturally, some would prefer rain to near freezing temps to achieve a ration free summer.

So it is fitting that today of all days in Colorado, that May 1st, also known as May Day marking the end of the uncomfortable winter  half of the year in the Northern hemisphere, that we receive one last goodbye from old man winter.
