Unlike Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal, who chose to stay at home at watch Tuesday's inauguration on TV, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin joined the throngs in the nation's capital to witness Barack Obama's swearing in as the nation's first African-American president. Nagin is a Democrat.

Clad in a stocking cap that read "The 44th President: Obama," Nagin said he was moved by the inauguration ceremony, which drew almost 2 million people to Washington D.C.'s National Mall. The mayor was even pictured in some of NBC's television coverage early in the day.

God is trying to tell Nagin something?

I believe in signs...

Nagin at President Obama's inauguration And so it is no coincidence that when President Obama uttered the words below about government accountability, the camera's panned on our own rarely seen, responsibility shirking, ignoring public cries for post-disaster leadership, MIA Mayor Nagin.

Excerpt From President Obama's Inaugural Speech:

"And those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account - to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day - because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government."
