Mac Donalds Head Office in Chicago is forcing Japanese Restaurants stores to change there Writing from Hiragana to Roman letters. Some thing that most Japanese do not appreciate to much. After all this is Japan, Hiragana, Katagana and Kanji are the Native for of Writting here. It is a move that most Japanese can not understand even though many things are already displayed in Roman lettres, Most Japanese can not read them and would rather see there own Writting to be used! The US run businesses have a way of not making to many friends letely! It would be time that US run enterprises learn to respect other countries costomes and langwishes!

Thank you for the advice, I shall do my best in future writings! No, I am not Native Japanese, I am native from Cameroon of German back round! It is all in my profile though!
I do how ever respect other Cultures and Tongs and believe this to be essential for good business relations globally! The large Majority in Japan does not speak English nor can they read it same would go for China and most other countries around the world! You may want to read some of my Articles about that subject! Especially "http://www.nowpublic.com/culture/perceptions-cultural-and-other-wise-need-be-understood" and maybe "http://www.nowpublic.com/world/end-tuaregs-niger-chad-mali-and-cameroon-algeria-and-libya" ! There is more though if you are interested! All the best and maybe you will become a Cosmopolite your self!

Paschen, I like this story. It's good stuff. Isn't it funny that we want all of our immigrants to speak english and expect when we open stores over seas that they should speak english. A bit too much I think. What is a sushi bar didn't write anything in english? I would be eating sea urchins and eal. My gosh get real. If McDonalds opens a business in Japan it should speak the host countries language. If this is just for employess, I understand their point but it is wrong to make these workers learn a language to work there.
Now, if they do learn english, it will help them in the business world, and they will probably make better money.
All in All it is a bit arrogent.

Thank you very much for the flag, Politisite! I do appreciate it a lot in deed!
I beleive you to be right in your comment and do agree with you here! The French Paper "le Figuaro" published an article some years ago that analized the reason that made some compagnies and or countries more successful then others on the International market. Their result was rather simple, it was respect of langwish, culture and costumes! Those that went through the trouble to do business in the local tong and market their product in the local tong as well as addapting their product to local costums and tradition did rather well, those that kept insisting on English or French ended up upsetting a lot of locals and lossing business to the competition that spock the local tong and addaptet their product and marketing to local costums!
