"T", the story is NOT his affair. The STORY is McCain using his influence as Chair of the Commerce Committee to assist the clients of Miss Iseman who are Telecom Giants. These same Telecom giants that the House is refusing to give immunity to in the FISA bill. THAT is the story.
I didn't know that elected officials used their influence to get things for their donors. I'm shocked... SHOCKED at this. Anyways, his influence isn't all that great if he can't get immunity for his donors passed through the House.
By the Way "Mountaineer", what do you think should happen to the telecoms? Should they be prosecuted for helping the government prosecute the War on Terror. Because I think they should be given immunity here.
Big T--I'm aghast. May have to head for my Victorian fainting sofa. You mean that lobbyists and special interest groups lobby lawmakers, and lawmakers LISTEN?! And all this time, I thought that lawmakers had kept special interest peddlers of all types chained in a kind of kennel, while the lawmakers resided and worked far above the madding crowd, in virginal splendor, polishing up Vesta's lamp. ;}
Hey, if the telecoms help monitor the terrorists on our soil, more power to 'em.
Let them go spy on the terrorist stupid enough to make a collect call from Baghdad to New York. Or the one sending the State Department mass e-mails. NO "T" the telecoms want immunity because they are breaking the LAW spying on YOU!!! and ME!!!!
And by Bush saying he would veto the bill if it didn't contain immunity for the telecoms illegal actions, by his own admission during the State of the Union address, puts this nation at GREAT risk from those "terrorists".
So he can take his telecom immunity and shove it up his a$$ until it hits Cheney!!!!!!!
But that's all ok "T" I love you, and oh yeah the Government loves you too. Sleep tight!!!
If you're not over it yet, I have room on the Victorian fainting sofa. I'm pretty much over my shock, horror and dismay so you can have the sofa next. ;}
Jeez, maybe I ought to keep the darned thing instead of selling it. It does come in handy--and the cats like it!
Oooops..this was a reply to Jordan, above re: his shock over NY Times having factual errors. Maybe I ought to go back to working on my spatial perception thing.
Yep, there's an art to mananging politics and the timing of releases, and responses. But this is such low-end dirty, unsupported mudslinging that it's not even worthy of the name "political games." Tacky, tacky.
I love the political mix,like you. Think I've gotten out of managing one incumbent's campaign this year, but will again serve in some capacity. I especially love handling it when crud explodes in the media--which, most of the time, I've seen coming (the scandal mongers are oh so predictable), and am laying in wait for. It's only when something explodes over the horizon at the last moment that it gets touchy, huh??!! :)
McCain is a complete criminal liar. He has a history of lying to the American people.
McCain says he is for tax cuts, but he voted against the Bush Tax Cut. McCain lied. He is a liar.
McCain says he does not support illegal immigrants, but voted in favor of legislations that support amnesty plans. McCain lied. He is a liar.
McCain flip flops within a 47 second time. The fastest and world-record holder. He earned the gold medal for lying within a 47 second time. He is the fastest liar. http://thinkprogress.org/2007/02/04/mccain-fl...
McCain says,“He Has ‘Never Asked For A Single Earmark Or Pork Barrel Project’ For His State.” McCain lied about that also. http://thinkprogress.org/2008/01/06/mcca ...
Mccain is lying about his infidelity with Vicki Iseman that occurred in 2000 while his wife was on vacation out of the country. McCain is lying about that also.
Do you want a President who is an aggressive and traditional liar?
McCain can not be trusted with foreign affairs. He will lie.
McCain can not be trusted with the national economy. He will lie.
We must not put a liar in the White House. We must not let a liar become the President of the United States.
I have no alternative but to support Obama. I am a conservative Republican, but I did not vote for McCain. McCain is not the ideal conservative Republican candidate. There is no conservative Republican candidate. Therefore, I am voting for Obama, which is a better choice than McCain.
While I agree with 99 44/100% of what you said. Voting for Obama is dumb if you are a conservative. Barack's middle name should be Mr.U.N. ...LOL. Look there IS a conservative in the race...RON PAUL!!!! Wake up guys, and don't be doing the little Monkey-dance that the Main Stream Media wants you to do.
