McCain as Commander-In-Chief? God Help Our Military

The old cliche, "Never judge a book by its cover," should be changed to, "Never judge a candidate by his rhetoric." Political rhetoric is nothing more than a PC term for hogwash. Senator McCain's campaign showcases him as experienced in foreign affairs, a Vietnam veteran, a former POW, a true supporter of our nation's armed forces.
How stupid does he think we really are? Wait, never mind. He's pretty much already answered that question. This brings to mind another old cliche, "Actions speak louder than words." Yes, they do; and his Congressional voting record speaks volumes. Too bad his actions contradict his campaign verbiage. So, when he's telling you what you want to hear, check into the things that aren't being said, like how he's voted on issues concerning our military and its members. And, without further ado, here is his record:

I have had that problem as well. When I go to make corrections, the new text doesn't show. I had to resubmit it several times on some of my articles.I have also been flagged for entering quotes from books I own and putting quotations around them, because I was told I needed to highlight them.
I am still learning, but I think there are still a few bugs in the system here.
By the way, good article. I had one like it, but did not post the specific bills he voted on. I think your article will bring to light some of the misdirection McCain puts out there when it comes to his service and his voting record on veteran's issues. I know many Vietnam Vets who are not voting for him. He is no friend of veteran's and the military.

McCain was a professional soldier first before he became the Republican presidential nominee and his combat experience definitely left an indelible mark in his mind about the horrors of war and global conflict. While some people might be impressed by Obama's lack of military experience as good qualification for Commander-in-Chief, I need to remind readers that we now live, unfortunately, in a world of constant, unending wars. The US will always be a target for covert Jihadist aggression, will always be involved with Israel's war with its neigbors and the growing leftist shift in South America. Whoever gets elected as President in November face the real, dangerous global conflict that the muslim terrorists have waged for decades now and there's no turning back. A pacifist US President would be favorable to the enemy as the muslim war for global domination would gain ground, much stronger and wide spread that we could imagine. Though these current predicament are not the conditions we want for our children and grandkids, whoever becomes the next President will have to fight back. Yes, we do now live in a "Post- American World" as most countries are now learning to live without America.

I'm not disputing most of what you said. However, your reply seems (to me) to be merely an attempt to put a positive spin on McCain and didn't really address the issues that were written about in the article. But if you want to go there, since McCain has such grand military experience, perhaps he should realize that we only have so many military personnel available to carry out this war in Iraq, which leaves Afghanistan (which is, I remind you, where Osama was after 9/11 - not Iraq. There are terrorists in almost every country around the world anymore. Does that mean we should have our armed services in every country fighting back?

Being a soldier is by far not the same then a four star General or a military professional advisor. He is used to receive orders not to plan strategies with long term effects.

Unfortunately that is a concept that many can't grasp. Their culture may not be right for us, but that in no way makes it wrong. The middle east has been embroiled in turmoil for hundreds of years. They hardly needed us sticking our nose where it didn't belong and interfering with things that were not our concern. They don't hate us for the many reasons offered by politicians hoping to blindside us into believing the thousands of fallen soldiers are necessary. They hate us because of our arrogant habit of believing that the United States' way is the only way.

Unfortunately, the color of Sarah Palin's lipstick or whether she happens to be wearing 4 -inch heels or 5-inchers are much more important issues for the American electorate than the mere facts about McCain's record of floor votes ...
