Mccain refers to Obama as 'that one'
"It was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate, loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies, and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney," McCain said. "You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one. You know who voted against it? Me."

While watching the debate tonight at a local lounge we where very shocked when Mccain refered to Obama as 'that one'. As I looked around the room full of democrats on one side and republicans on the other it was the same reaction to the comment. One debate watcher who was a Republican said "That wasnt very presidential."
As election day nears Mccain dropping in the polls and comments like that do not help him. He has to calm down and think about what he says before he says it. I have no doubt that tomorrow he will regret that comment but its to late and I believe much like the Obama campaign caught it so did the American public.
The candidates need to stick to the issues and give the American public a real plan for change. Although I am a supporter of Obama I do not believe that he is the saving grace. I do however believe that Obama will bring together a real team, a team that will be able to take on the challenges of this great country and bring us back to the days of glory.
We have real problems in America that deserve real solutions.
Barack Obama is a United States Senator and deserves to be addressed by his name and not as 'that one.'

integrityforamerica, I like this story. It's good stuff. Yes it was very shocking. Its getting really heated between the two. Mccain is definitely going to regret that as the media is not going to let this one go.

Golly! If I had known political contests were so funny, I would have tuned in years ago! LOL! Everybody is telling on the other one. I love it!

His use of the phrase "That one" can mean two things, one could be because he was even scared to look at him in the face and call his name. Or it could be derogatory. But all the same, the debate had more substance than earlier ones.

My favorite moment was when McCain chastised Obama for saying they would go into Pakistan if Bin Laden was there and the Pakistan government refused to do anything. Mccain was all over Obama, 'you don't tell a nation you're going to invade'.
Obama immediately replied with: "This is the same man who sang, 'bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran and called for the complete annihilation of North Korea!"
Yikes.
Oh hey look, turns out he didn't say that privately to an old friend, he said it to a roomful of GOP supporters: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=hAzBxFaio1I
