McCain urges Bush to consider boycott

The boycott bandwagon seems to be gaining momentum, as now all three presidential candidates are just saying no to the opening ceremonies, and urging Bush to do the same.

Republican John McCain today called on President Bush to reconsider his decision to attend opening ceremonies at the Beijing Olympics, making it unanimous among the three candidates for president.

"If Chinese policies and practices do not change, I would not attend the opening ceremonies," said the Arizona senator, who has clinched the GOP nomination for president. "It does no service to the Chinese government, and certainly no service to the people of China, for the United States and other democracies to pretend that the suppression of rights in China does not concern us. It does, will and must concern us."

White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, asked Wednesday about the president's planned attendance at the opening ceremony, said she could not confirm the president's travel plans. "I would just leave it as how the president stated it," she said. "We haven't announced the president's schedule."

If McCain was President he would be at the Opening Ceremonies if he had to drag his sick and almost dead sorry ass there.  He's really courageous when he is a wanna be bride in waiting.  What a cheap opportunist!  Bottom line is China can pull the plug on the US economy in 24 hours and Bush, though he is oblivious to common sense on everything else knows China has the USA by the short curlies.  Slap those Chinese too often, when they're carrying your package, and they'll punt your stuff out the window and slam the door!  They've been doing it for over 4000 years.

" You don't pull on Superman's cape.

You don't spit into the wind,

You don't pull the mask off the Old Lone Ranger and you don't mess around with Bejing!"

As to McCain; he is a feckless, windbag of an old man.

good stuff:

Rob Peters, I like this story. It's good stuff. I agree in part with what Moon said, except his slight to McCain.  This is a good story as well Rob.

Politicians everywhere are considering abstaining from the opening ceremonies, though the Dali Lama has not said a word about boycott, it is mostly non tibetans who are the protestors admonishing the Olympics, as for me our atheletes need our attendance and support. Politics has no place in an Olympic event. Perhaps, they should just have the Olympic in Greece from now on to appease everyone and no one.  And to add to Moons quips, "You don't eat the Yellow Snow" and you "Don't bring a Protest Sign to a Gun Fight" but many do, and cause let's face, that's just plain silly!!
