NP Rank:
McCrystal or Healthcare?

By: Rev. Jermano
President Obama is a guy facing a lot of decisions for the US. Only a few people have the opportunity to speak their views to him....to give a real assessement of happenings on issues, knowing they have nothing to gain per say....except creditability.
I have given my point of view on his statements and views, and have come to realize that yes...he is better than Bush. Yes he has given us an opportunity for change...and yes he is aware of the fact that 911 was an inside job.
The question we need to ask is what can we realistically do about it? I mean is there a crime that is so big...that it is impossible to seek prosecution? Impossible to seek justice? And if we did achieve the result in finding that the US government was involved in killing over 3,000 Americans, just what would come of it? Do we think it will make people trust the government more, because we acquired justice? I would say certainly not....It would make us more alienated, and more against those in Corporate America than we already are.
Obama has come to inherit the total collapse of the American Economy...a time that some say is a remake to the Great Depression. No world war is happening and...he has shown his patience and ability with Iraq, and Afghanistan, while the rest of are left wondering how things will get better.. With the benefit of the doubt I especially liked his appearance on Face the Nation with CBS Bob Scheiffer...whom I contend is our present day Walter Cronkite.
He was candid, open, and realistic. He assured that the Health Care Plan he has to solve the problem we have been facing for over 50 years is really an internal rearrangement of spending that will not require increases of taxes, especially from the middle class.
I have to say; even if there was a tax, and it was lower than the high hoarding profit premiums from the Private Insurance Companies; to me it would be a welcome relief to pay. One thing I have learned is that the moment we think the Private sector is our savior from government, we should really consider...that if we made Government our friend it can be our own Private Government to assure the people are not being ripped off by the Private Sector... when the Private Sector has become so big and greedy.
The 700 billion bank bailout is case in point.... they got too greedy and the market came tumbling down. I ask you.. has he asked for a tax increase to repay that? He certainly has not. Has he asked for a tax increase to pay back the 787 billion dollar stimulus? He has not.
So I am sure he will not be socking it to the Healthcare Plan...a plan that is there to help people, not the greedy corporations who got us into this mess.
Getting back to his keeping his promises, I firmly believe he intends to end the wars. We know that the Wars were lies concocted by the Bush Cons, and it is how we handle the situation that will give us in America back its creditability.
Presently President Obama is facing a choice between getting his money and support rearranged for the New Health Care Plan on one hand and deciding how that affects his decision in sending more troops into Afghanistan, per General McCrystals extorted views.
The President needs to consider what the goal is in Afghanistan? What only to keep out the Taliban? He also knows we have had prior friendly ties with the Taliban before 911 happened; right? He also knows that Taliban are not Alqida, or the terrorists group supposedly started by Osama BinLadin.
I hope the American people know that PR China does have a border line with Afghanistan, and does have friendly ties with Afghanistan.... http://www.cacianalyst.org/?q=node/4858.
The question is.. what is the long term objective in economic development of Afghanistan? Certainly no one really addresses this except Kharazi, and Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah.
Why isn't the US engaging China to help resolve the Afghanistan conflict? Could be because they are damn commies, and we really don't want China to have access to oil in their own neighborhood. Pretty sad way to have foreign policy, while not establishing strong allies such as China near and in regions where we consider as havens for terrorist extremists.
Some want the same economic development as there is in the USA, and China. But I have to say America does not see that objective. America only wants to secure Centgas. pipeline through Afghanistan to feed American Markets with the oil reserves from the Caspin Sea.
I also need to inform the President that such development in Afghanistan is going to remain nominal to say the least. The problem is it's location. Who in their right mind actually thinks Afghanistan in the mountains is going to reach significant economic strides? China has major troubles in getting people to settle in Western China....and Afghanistan is even further West than Western China.
Just how is it that we can expect economic development to come to Afghanistan, when it really will not happen for China's Western Regions?
The reality sets in...Let us notice the differences between America and China...It is that America enjoys two if not three Ocean trade outlets to the American Continent. The Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico. China only has its Eastern Seaboard.
There is no reason for people to clamor out to western China. What make a trade train transportation link? I don't see it happening..like the shipping and cargo ships use in bringing goods to China and the USA.
China has no backdoor per Ocean trade capability, so they are closed. The suggestion that people are going to put investment dollars there are few if not in between to not worth the exercise.
So take that to Afghanistan. Actually Afghanistan is already contained...it is out in the middle of no where. Put it this way if Britain had a choice between dumping its prisoners in Australia or Afghanistan......Afghanistan would be more isolated...because it has no real big trade connection.
If we want to play on the silk trade route idea with China and India, and Pakistan, and Afghanistan...the most is a donkey trail to smuggle drugs or guns. Hardly a high tech region or of logistical worth to maintain for US interests.
If anyone has a better chance to get the oil to markets it would be China....not the USA.. Having the US buy Oil from China... But more than likely the US will probably have China buy rights from them..for having gone to Afghanistan to fight this losing battle.
China would have a better opportunity to use its many steel pipes to pump oil from the Caspian Sea to China....intent on serving US markets.
So why at this period in time should Obama increase troops in Afghanistan? It is a complete waste of time. The only reason they stay there now is because of the same excuse they used in Iraq and that is the dead US soldiers who served and died in Afghanistan will not die in vain.
My real advice is for President Obama to decrease troops levels in Afghanistan, and have talks with China in developing more it's Afghanistan relationship. McCrystal and America needs to reduce its military operations....in favor of gradual economic stability being stimulated through the China Afghanistan border.
The other arguement is that McCrystal is using Afghanistan as a military base to eventually launch attacks against Iran. But I really think that sort of action will drive economic development further into the muds of hell, where Iran can easily retaliate in halting oil coming from Afghanistan, while also closing its own spickets as well. President Obama I think in order to solve the nuclear boorah with Iran is to assure Iran Renewable Energy Systems that are affordable, so they don't need their nuclear ideas.
I think we can agree that Western China is not going to become another Shanghai, or Guangzhou, but at least there can be enough services and healthcare offered to the people in the outback of China and Afghanistan to move them away from taking up arms and resistance to the State.
It is my hope President Obama...although may not see this article.....someway the logic will enter his vision and circle. Obviously healthcare is the winner and the choice.....over thinking we need to spend more and more on a military operation.....that costs more than any of our World Wars...for an ultimate result that really is an Economic Culdesac.
God Bless the President.
