A week long media training workshop concluded in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Peshawar ,Department of Journalism and Mass Communication arranged for by Mediothek , Germany based Media organization for Afghanistan based journalists and Tribal Journalists based near Pak-Afghan border . The workshop started on April 24 and completed on April 30.
The workshop was arranged under the Title “Conflict sensitive journalism and net work building”.
Chairman of Journalism dept,University of Peshawar DR.Shah Jehan in his speech the objective of the training was to bring Afghan and Tribal journalist close to each other and to use their journalistic activities to build a strong net work to work for the welfare of their country men.
DR. Shah Jehan urged the Afghan and Tribal Journalist to work and use their journalistic activities for maintaining peace and harmony in both the neighbourer countries.
Hamid Zazai, coordinator Mediothek in Afghanistan also thanked all the staff of Journalisim and Mass Communication Dept,university of Peshawar and TUJ(Tribal Union of Journalists) for their cooperation to arrange this Media training workshop for Afghan annd Tribal Journalists.
Ahmad Zahir Wali, resident of Kandahar and Farooq Jan Mangal, an Afghan journalist While talking to Tribal Journalist said that we had some wrong concepts about Pakistan but when we saw there the situation is completely different. They said that our culture, religion and languages are same so then Why the people of both neighbourer countires have bad concepst against each other.
14 journalists from Afghanistan While nine journalists besides six female journalists from journalism department participated in the one weekly long training work shop. Ten more tribal journalists were included in this workshop in the final two days to let them know how to build a network for a common objective. The participants of the workshop were imparted certificates on the last day.
