Medicare attack dropped by Republicans

Focusing on areas of agreement is more productive. There is no question that rules must change governing Medicare and eventually, means testing of some sort will come forward, in my opinion.

Senior Republicans conceded Wednesday that a deal is unlikely on a plan to overhaul Medicare and offered to open budget talks by focusing on areas where both parties can agree, such as cutting farm subsidies.

On the eve of debt-reduction talks, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Va.) said Republicans remain convinced that reining in federal retirement programs is vital, but recognize they may need to look elsewhere to achieve consensus.

Attack on medicare. LOL. Ya medicare can go on the back burner along with social security and medicaid. Maybe we can make some adjustments down the road. Oh wait, the cost of benefits are expected to exceed revenues this year. Never mind, perhaps after they are totally bankrupt and completely unable to fund the care a growing grey tsunami demand of it, Obama might do something then. Ya that's a good policy.
