Meg McLain Refuses Ft. Lauderdale Airport Body Scanner: Handcuffed, Esorted Out Of Airport

Meg McLain, a contributor to Free Talk Live, says she went through a horrible experience, with the Transportation Security Authority (TSA) after being singled out to go through the Ft. Lauderdale airport body scanner.

The audio interview with Meg McLain is a fascinating account of McLain's encounter with airport security and the whole body scanning procedure.

Meg Mclain says she was singled out for the body scanning, and after she refused aiport security took her to a pat down zone, where ultimately, things got out of hand.
McLain ended up handcuffed, surrounded by a dozen officers, and had her plane ticket ripped up.
The Transportation Security Authority (TSA) has been the subject of an online grass roots campaign, the wewontfly campaign - that opposes the TSA's used of fully body scanners.

We are opposed to the full-body backscatter x-ray airport scanners on grounds of health and privacy. We do not consent to strip searches, virtual or otherwise. We do not wish to be guinea pigs for new, and possibly dangerous, technology. We are not criminals. We are your customers. We will not beg the government anymore. We will simply stop flying until the porno-scanners are history

I don't think they are checking anyone for explosives. If they really thought there was even a chance anyone was wearing explosives, they would NOT go near us and definitely NOT touch us and/or squeeze us. As it is, they are only wearing rubber gloves, no protection for themselves,  they are patting down people in public view near hundreds of other people in areas that are NOT bomb proof. What does that tell you? This is crazy and we should all boycott flying and scanners and pat downs altogether. If we are standing in line and someone is being patted down  only a few feet away, shouldn't we be protected? It goes to prove it's all a joke and scam to get us used  to being illegally searched. They are invading our privacy and violating our 4th amendment rights.

Boycott all air travel until these TSA perverts are forced to removed all porno-scanners from airports. The TSA is becoming a mecca for sexual predators looking for a “legitimate” outlet for acting out their fantasies: dominating and humiliating women for sexual pleasure. PLEASE, PLEASE organize, support and participate in a boycott on all air travel until travelers are protected by these predators.

OK the rule is you go through the body scanner or you get the pat down or you just leave. She thinks she was singled out 'cause she's pretty? WHAT AN EGO. You ain't that hot lady. Trust me it was random. So you instantly say no, because you READ something. So you don't really know what was involved, you at that point should've left. And everyone in the airport was instantly screaming at her for no reason. Yeah right. People do that all time. I can't wait to hear their version of this. You sounded from your opening statements that you were aggressive toward them immediately. You all will be the first to complain about not searching someone well enough when a bomb gets through. If your hot on air personality can get past the idea that she's so hot everyone wants to cop a peek, may I suggest renting a car or a train. Jeez, I can find a thousand other hotter women by googling the Internet, no one needs to look at this lady through an xray.

1. She has been "randomly selected" on several occasions now, not just this once.  This is the disturbing part.  She mentions that she opted out because the last time she was "randomly' selected for a pat down a year or so ago, she was humiliated and did not want to go through that again.2. When she tried to leave, they handcuffed her to a chair and held her belongings and tore up her ticket.  Then she was escorted by 12 officers to the exit and thrown out on her a$$ with nowhere to go.3. I agree that if you want to see naked women you can just go online and see some, but those women all wanted their picture taken naked, she does not.  It is less about need and more about selling scanners that do not even make that much of a difference. Wake up before you comply your way into communism. This is America and my ancestors fought and died so that I would not have to go through this kind of ordeal.  It is embarrassing to me that we are treating our own citizens this way.  We have sunk to their level and they are winning.Remember terrorism is more about instilling fear and less about killing people.

It's all about selling scanners.  It has nothing to do with privacy and security.  Look to who benefits the most from this.  It's all about selling scanners we don't want to walk through.  Soon you will be forced to walk through one to pay a parking ticket or appear in court to fight a traffic violation.  Basically if you want to defend yourself, you will need to be irradiated.  Or just pay the fine via mail to avoid getting cancer. Its all about selling scanners.  That's all.

What about radiation? Americans are exposed to enough radiation as it is. The lead, mercury, cadmium exposure is too much. What about the cancer and health risks associated with body scanners?

If you don't like the body scanners and pat downs take the friggin bus. I don't want to fly with someone who is unwilling to be screened. Flying on a commercial plane isn't your right it is a service you pay for. I want to feel safe when I fly. TSA screeners do not touch with there palms and defiantly do not squeeze your breast. Meg Mclain is a media whore liar, she tells a completely different story then the video shown, she is in media and wants attention. She claims they targeted her cause she is pretty, She looks stupid with the pigtails and sweatpants on I've seen far more beautiful women flying. She sucks I can't stand stupid people she should crawl under a rock. She got caught in a lie own up to it!

Hear say... I am so glad for you that you will so happy living under a totalitarian communist socialist government.  These procedures far outstrip legitimate searches just to fly domestically within the united States.  You may think what's the deal if you have nothing to hide.  Well, i have nothing to hide, but i do not think it appropriate to force me to receive radiation beyond what is natural or submitt to a sexual assualt just in order to fly to see my kids that would take me a few hours.  Driving would be a two day trip one way and a bus would be even longer.  Get real!

"Those who sacrifice liberty for security, deserve neither." Benjamin Franklin If you people don't get your collective heads out of you screened butts, we will all have the details of our lives controlled by our government. The terrorists rely on lemuels like most of you who side with TSA in the name of safety, to go along and thereby change and affect our lives. Why do you blindly accept what big brother tells you is best? Isreal and the UK have successfully thwarted airline bombings for YEARS using profiling to check legitimate threats. Heard of any bombs on EL AL. Oh, I forgot, it's politically incorrect to profile. So let's waste time patting down 80 year old grandmas and kids. The terrorists don't frighten me, you people do.
