Syed Mokhtar al Bukhary had his first working experience in his childhood. He worked while studying for his primary and later pursued to his secondary. He started his first business with Zainal dealing with rice in Kedah. More success came and he get involved in rice trading business. After Lembaga Padi Negara awarded him the license for rice trading , he worked even harder , and was later awarded successions of government-linked corporations supplier contract with Zainal Hatim Hj Ambia Bukhary as partner.
