A failed attempt to rescue kidnapped victim resulted in the murder of Yolanda Ceballos Coppel in the hands of her kidnapper ¨El Ivan¨who committed suicide right after taking the victim´s life.
Two members of the rescue team also lost their lives Antonio Moreno Sánchez and  Julio Rincón Juárez. in the rescue operation where three of the criminals were captured, two women and a man.

Yolanda Ceballos Coppel is related to the Coppel family one of families with more economic power and influence in the Pacific area of Mexico, owners of well known touristic empire like Pueblo Bonito and founders of the prestigious drug rehabilitation clinic Oceanica in Mazatlan of which she was a the Prevention Director. She was also daughter of Jesús Ceballos Gómez y Yolanda Coppel de Ceballos, who were dedicated to the fishing and automotive industries, therefore cousin to Mexican Entrepreneur and Cabo Resort Developer  Ernesto Coppel Kelly.

.Her death is expected to be the drop that spills over the glass, concerning the lack of security for prominent families in Mexico as was the Fernando Marti´s case where the boy´s body was found decomposing  in a car trunk even as the ransom had been paid.
