Gas Explosion in Menlo Park, California

A methane gas cylinder exploded at Membrane Technology and Research in Menlo Park, California at 4:15pm local time on September 2, 1011.

One worker was killed in the Menlo Park blast, and another injured. Several workers have been exposed to the gas that was released as the cylinder exploded.

Apparently the cylinder burst as it was being moved. Membrane Technology and Research is on Willow Road, between Highway 84 and Highway 101, just west of the University Village Shopping Center.
