Let Sankranti take place,

An evolution thru’ revolution.

A meeting of two enemies,

Yet close relative,

The father & son,

The Sun & the Saturn

A meeting of two opposites,

The Light & Darkness,

Knowledge & Ignorance,

King & Poors,

Have’s &  Havenot’s.

Today the King (Sun),

Wants to descend,

To Praja (Saturn),

The subject’s house,

To ask their welfare,

And to bless them,

With his unlimited Power.

And Praja reciprocates,

Welcomes Sun,

By reaching to the sky,

Thru’ small kites,

To bring almighty,

To their house,

For their welfare.

And the almighty Sun,

Leaving his Rajbhog,

Accepts the Bhog,

The food of common man,

The Pongal or Khichdi.

Thus Earth celebrates,

The Sun’s homecoming,

And in this universal meet,

Like other international meets,

The Menu overrules,

The Agenda of meeting,

Making this a festival of,

Khichadi or Bhogi or Pongal.
