Venezuelan government and Mexican Cemex seem to be on the road to agreement of terms of nationalization.
Mexican government optimistic about Cemex-Venezuela talks. Economy The Mexican government said on Wednesday that the talks between Mexican cement maker Cemex and the Venezuelan government to agree on a price for the seized assets "are making strides." Cemex, the third largest cement manufacturer in the world, and the Venezuelan government set a 60-day term to reach an agreement on the compensation to be received by the Mexican firm, after resuming talks late last August. "At this present time, we are in the stage of negotiation, where the company and Venezuelan authorities are assessing Cemex's assets," said Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Affairs Patricia Espinosa in a meeting with parliamentarians. "There are signs that things are moving ahead in a positive way," added the Secretary.
