Officials say the protests were organised by drug cartels trying to disrupt the government anti-drug crackdown. It's good to remember the amount of money that circulates around all those who participate in drug trafficking, from planting to exporting. Many of the participants were wearing hoods or had their face covered.

In co-ordinated rallies across northern Mexico, demonstrators have blocked roads into the US to protest against the Mexican army's operations against drug gangs.

Shouldn't they just arrest these people as if they're part of the protest they must be involved?

This kind of thing happens quite a lot, even having videos, people are not arrested. A couple of months ago, there was a video of two muggers, pointing a gun to a driver's head during a red light stop. They could not be arrested, because the driver had not filed a demand, and the license plates could not bee seen in the video. They are free, mugging others.
