It is the purpose of The Government of United States of Mexico to award Mr. Edward Kennedy, Senator of the State of Massachusetts, for his efforts to defend the rights of Mexican migrants in benefit of the Mexico-American community in favor of a mutually harmonic and beneficial vicinity.

Que es propósito del Gobierno de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos reconocer al señor Edward Kennedy, Senador Demócrata por el Estado de Massachusetts, por sus esfuerzos en defensa de los derechos de los migrantes mexicanos en beneficio de la comunidad mexicano-americana, y a favor de una vecindad armónica y mutuamente provechosa;
Calderón entregó la misma condecoración el año pasado al fundador de Microsoft, Bill Gates, y a su esposa Melinda por sus acciones en beneficio de la educación mexicana.
Sunday, July 20, 2008MEXICO CITY -- Mexico has awarded U.S. Democratic Senator Edward Kennedy the country's highest honour for his work defending the rights of immigrants during his decades in Congress. The Mexican government said in its official gazette it presented the "Aztec Eagle" honour to Kennedy in Washington on Friday. The veteran Massachusetts senator fought for an immigration reform bill in the U.S. Congress that failed to pass.
