Mexico to shut government in flu fight

MEXICO CITY - Mexico's government is suspending all nonessential activity of the federal government and private business as the number of confirmed swine flu cases jumped.

The decision came as global health authorities warned Wednesday that swine flu was threatening to bloom into a pandemic, and the virus spread farther in Europe even as the outbreak appeared to stabilize at its epicenter. A toddler who succumbed in Texas became the first death outside Mexico.

Closing government and businesses would seem to be on the extreme end of social distancing plans

It was only just over a week ago that Mexico began closing schools and cancelling sporting events.

Baby can you dig your man?

Thanks for the tip Cypresso.

I just can't get that stupid song out of my head, and the whole "Captain Trips" thing.  If anybody sees Kareem Abdul Jabbar wearing a sandwich board, ringing a bell, and shouting "Bring out your dead," then make your plans to head to Boulder.

(or Las Vegas)
