Miami Airport Explosion, Fire & Bomb Scare (Eyewitness Video)
Miami Airport Fuel Tank Explosion
A fuel tank at Miami International Airport exploded at around 11pm on March 23, sending a huge fireball into the air. Over 20 outbound flights were canceled, as well as 14 inbound flights, as firefighters battled the blaze for several hours.
The Miami Airport fuel tank explosion, blamed on a fuel line malfunction, triggered blasts at several smaller fuel tanks nearby. Miami Airport lost nearly half of its stored fuel. The fuel is stored at the airport's perimeter, so the runways and terminals were not damaged. You can see eyewitness video footage of the explosion and fire below.

Bomb Scare at MIA
Even as the fires burned in the fuel depot, a sniffer dog detected a suspicious package at a luggage carousel, which triggered a bomb scare. The package turned out to be benign.
