The Miami based extremist organization "Vigilia Mambisa", destroyed CDs and burned a black shirt in protest against the scheduled concert of Colombian singer Juanes in Cuba.

At the famous 8th Street of Miami, a black shirt was burnt in public in allusion to the title of one of the Latin pop star's musical hits.  According to EFE, Mr. Miguel Saavedra, president of Vigilia Mambisa, argued that he does not understand why  Juanes will sing in the Square of the Revolution in Havana, where the most important speeches against the democratic countries were pronounced by Fidel Castro.

That speech demonstrates that for  the extremists members of Cuban Exile in Florida, democracy must be exercised  with hammers and street fires. Another member of Vigilia, Madame Hibia Couce, after setting fire to the black shirt said as follows: "This is what we will make to Juanes, to burn him for communist, traitor and terrorist...

This reggrettable event at Miami 8th Street is another evidence of extremism, in a city where several criminals as Orlando Bosch and Luis Posada Carriles live freely.

Singer and composer Willy Chirino, the saxophonist Paquito D'Rivera and the trumpet player Arturo Sandovalis are some of the ones whom raised voices against the "dangerous" concert of Juanes in Havana.

I don't think its dangerous for Juanes to go to Havana and perform. He is a succesful Colombian musician. The Cuban people need to see examples of Latin American musicians who have made it as recording artists in the commercial world.  I am surprised that Paquito D'Rivera who has always seemed to me to such a creative artist would be against Juanes' scheduled performance.
