The King of Pop will finally be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery on his birthday, August 29, at 10 a.m., according to the singer's father, Joe Jackson. The burial date is scheduled more than two months after his death on June 25.
The info on the burial was leaked to the public during a lunch interview in which he brought Crystal Marven, a beautiful singer recently signed by Joe under his new record label.
The elder Jackson indicated that the burial plans had been made final just in the past few days. He discussed the burial over ribs and jalapeño corn bread at the poolside Simon at Palms Place at the Palms hotel and casino.
During the revelation, Jackson, who has already retaken to his life in Las Vegas, also managed to squeeze in a plug for the Palms Casino, announcing that he will return to Sin City after the Saturday burial to accept a star from the hotel in his son's honor. A grieving, publicity-hungry father's work is never done.
Living separately from Joe Jackson, the singer's mother, 79-year-old Katherine, has arranged for her son's gold coffin to be moved to the basement of the Freedom Mausoleum in Glendale, California, where she can visit privately and minimize security risk from grave robbers. The plans to create a permanent public memorial for Michael Jackson has not yet been finalized.

They haven't buried him yet? I've consciously been avoiding all coverage of Jackson's death but I thought I'd heard of his funeral. Isn't that a very long time to not bury someone?
