Michael Jackson vs. Pedophiles

      Ok. So as we all know there has been alot of talk about Michael "The King of Pop" Jackson since his recent death on June.25.2009. Of coarse there's been good talk and there's been bad talk. Let me start by stateing that Michael Jackson was accused of child molestion around 7 years ago and he was proven to be innocent of all charges and his home "Neverland" was even raided to find any questionable items, there were none to be found. The last time I checked, if someone is proven innocent then that should be that. But NO! People still are trying to bring it up and can't grasp the fact that Michael Jackson was basically a legend. Not just to America, but also to countless countries around the globe.

      Anywho, you have people trying to say "He was a pedophile, why are we giving him so much coverage after his death.." Well thats when you go back and look at court records and find that he was not guilty of anything and remember that he was just accused of this nonsense, and that he didn't actually do it. But then the famous question arises "Why did he pay the accusers the second time if he was so innocent?" Um, HELLO! It was obvious that they wanted the money!  Michael saved his time and there's by just going ahead and giving them what they wanted, not to mention the boy had cancer and if you didn't know, Michael would give the shirt off his back for the less fortunate. Just think about it, lets say your child comes home and tells you that the man down the street was touching his/her "privates" , what would you do? Would you just press charges so you can get a certain amount of money or would you try to do everything you can to make sure this man is locked up for life? Hopefully your in your right mind and would make sure the pervert is behind bars!

      Lets get a little off the subject. Michael Jackson began performing when he was 5, his childhood was basically shattered from then on. Its been stated that his father would whip him alot ,especially if he didnt get his performances "perfect". To top that, most of us know about the pepsi commercial in the 80's , you know the one that resulted in Michael having 3rd degree burns to his scalp..Ouch. Since his death people have tried to speculate that this incident may have been the reason he had a love for perscription drugs. Anyways, back to the topic. Michael Jackson was clearly no pedophile in any way shape or form, and thats when another question arises "So why did he say he sometimes slept with the children in the same bed.." For me, that is probaly the most simple question to answer. Michael was basically a little boy in a grown man's body, so of course he's going to love being around kids as much as possible, because he felt that children are innocent, and that they aren't judgemental and wouldn't be fake when it came to true friendship...they bascially just want to enjoy the life they live, just as he wanted to. So yeah, when it was bedtime, what do most groups of children do? They have a sleepover, also known as a slumber party. Michael wouldnt touch them in a way he wouldnt want to be touched.

      I truly beleive that Michael Jackson didn't even have sex on his mind, he knew sex is very adult-oriented, and when he was around children he didnt want anything "adult-like" to get in the way of him "excaping" the fact that he wasn't really a child anymore. Therefore, when Michael did occasionally sleep in the same bed as the children, you can bet all the money you own that nothing was "going down" under the covers. He loved that fact that children are innocent and pure and he would never have done anything to take that innocence away from them. Heck, he wanted them to keep it as long as they could before the became adults and would then have to face a world where drama is considerd a way of life. 

So basically Michael Jackson was a human just like the rest of us, and just like us, he made mistakes, such as the time he held his baby over a balconey to show him off, but he knew that was a bad choice ,and he admited that he should't have done that, and he learned from it and didn't do it again. Therefore he was not a pedophile, so don't consider him one. MJ does deserve to be considerd an icon though, not to mention a global humanitarian, considering the fact he gave billions to multiple charities...but thats another story!
