NP Rank:
Michael Medved Is Not A Small "r" Republican
Talk radio host Michael Medved, and those of his ilk, is the last thing that the Republican Party needs if it ever wants to be taken seriously again by the American electorate. Medved's spiel is essentially that of an elitist and idealogue. . . and like all elitists and idealogues, Medved has no conception of what average Americans face on a daily basis, how they live, and how they view their country and its political leaders.
Americans have always been skeptical of the "powers that be" as well they should be. But Medved, a former liberal/progressive , turned neocon (that claims to have heard and seen the ghosts of Civil War soldiers on the Gettysburg Battlefield, believes that Big-Foot exists, and thinks that all political third-parties are comprised of "pathetic losers") , would have us believe that the only hope for America is to revert political power back to the Republican Party. And is there any doubt that what Medved would have us believe is absurd in light of what has transpired under eight years of George W. Bush? I say this as a registered Republican by the way . . . and I admit to having a rather large axe to grind here, because I believe that the Republican Party has let America down. Medved, along with the rest of the Republican talk radio bucket boys is an embarrassment to small "r" republicans such as myself. And although Medved, and those of his talk radio ilk, have millions of listeners, there are millions more that see right through his spiel and know that he is full of it. Indeed, the Republican Party needs to come back down to earth, get back in touch with the average American, and divorce itself from the elitist likes of Michael Medved if it ever wants to regain credibilty and restore the trust of small "r" republicans . . . .
