Michael Savage Banned From UK For Political Opinions

American talk show host Michael Savage has been banned from entering the UK by the Home Secretary because of his political opinions and opposition to illegal immigration, which is considered “hate speech” in airstrip one.

“Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said she decided to make public the names so others could better understand what sort of behaviour Britain was not prepared to tolerate,” according to an ITN report.

The list of 16 “unwelcome” individuals includes Neo-Nazis, former Ku Klux Klan members, racist skinhead groups and Islamic preachers supposedly linked to terrorist groups.

“Coming to this country is a privilege. If you can’t live by the rules that we live by, the standards and the values that we live by, we should exclude you from this country and, what’s more, now we will make public those people that we have excluded,” said Home Secretary Jacqui Smith.

Apparently the ‘rules that people live by’ in the UK do not include the right to free speech and political opinions considered unpalatable by what whistleblowers have described as a “Stalinist cabal of control freaks” currently in power in Britain.

Ah Yes, political correctness run a muck. This is just the beginning of the end of free speech in Britain.

The libs of old, my teachers at my Quaker school, would have opposed banning him. Modern libs, though, have a degree of narcissism that precludes that kind of objectivity and rationalizes hypocrisy egregiously.

Can anyone point to any single act of violence that has occurred because the person was listening to Michael Savage and acted on what he thought he had understood?

The answer is no.

Nope it's  a straight comment. No tongue in cheek here. I am lost for words on this one. Someone has to be smoking something mighty strong to actually ban him. Big mouth but no teeth.

Your position, Moon, is a hybrid of traditional lib and modern lib. You are part of an older tradition. You might want to do some proselytizing among the younger, very modern libs, as I mentioned, the kind that took Mark Steyn to court in Canada.

I think that he got picked because most of the names that have been banned are Muslim names and the British gov't needed a token Western white guy to ban to make it look "fair".

Hamas MP Yunis Al-Astal, Jewish extremist Mike Guzovsky, former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard Stephen Donald Black and neo-Nazi Erich Gliebe are also on the list released today.

Artur Ryno and Pavel Skachevsky, the former leaders of a violent Russian skinhead gang which committed 20 racially motivated murders, are also banned from coming to Britain. Both are currently in prison.

Making up the rest of the 16 named by the Home Office today are preachers Wadgy Abd El Hamied Mohamed Ghoneim, Abdullah Qadri Al Ahdal, Safwat Hijazi and Amir Siddique, Muslim activist Abdul Ali Musa (previously Clarence Reams), murderer and Hezbollah terrorist Samir Al Quntar and Kashmiri terror group leader Nasr Javed.

Michael Savage is as his name represents a savage.... It's against the law to yell fire in crowded Movie Theatre, It's against the law to disrupt the people in Church or any assembly that is not about the intended topics. Sure we can turn the dial, but there are those who do listen to him and Limbaugh that go beyond the acceptable ideals to cheer leading a person into committing violence or some terrible crime....because of the hate spewing from their microphones.....Savage has no manners, no sense of normal integrity....only his belligerent attempt to shut down his adversaries....who point out his foul demeanor. I say jolly good for the UK in standing up for decency...and respect...

Could you give me an example of an act of violence perpetrated because of what someone heard him say? Sorry, I think that no such act exists. Your hypothesis remains unproven, but apparently suffices in your mind to do violence to Freedom of Speech.

I never knew that politeness was a prerequisite for freedom of speech. If that was the case  the community would be in jail or thrown out of here. Civility is commendable and appreciated but even a putz and a hater has a right to share their views as well as I  have a right to counter them and make their life as difficult as possible with in the law.

Roy....hate speech provokes, engineers, and eventually executes its intent.. Thus Bring it On, is the result. There is no freedom of speech, when such speech hurts and harms others to anothers benefit. The idea is we all benefit by being civil and respecting each other. Our communication methods should reflect our needs, and the empathy of both to work toward helping each other. Not degrading humanity in insults, poison verbs of elocution, to eventual Mass Graves along the countryside. Wake up....Freedom of Speech is to speak kindness, hardly the idea it protects the negative, and provocative purveyors to spur violence. Savage and Limbaugh are such people. .and should be warned.
