Michigan is an open primary, which means that Democrats can vote as well as Republicans. To this end, Democratic strategist Joe DiSano has sent out robocalls urging Democrats to vote for Rick Santorum. The rationale is that Mitt Romney is the most credible threat to Obama in November, while Santorum would get destroyed in a national election (his religious-extremist and anti-women stances are not universally appealing, to say the least).
Mitt Romney isn't doing himself any favors, either: he fondly remembered the Golden Jubilee, which took place before he was born.
