Middle school teacher fired after sex with male student, 13

A seventh grade teacher, Kristy Sanchez Trujillo, age 33, who teaches social sciences at a Middle School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been terminated after she confided in a fellow teacher. Trujillo was fired over accusations she had been conducting a sexual relationship with a 13 year old male student.

An anonymous call was placed to the school, apparently by the person who was confided in by the teacher. A spokesperson has said that the teacher was terminated under employee misconduct clauses, and that police will deal with criminal charges concerning her conduct with the minor student at Jimmy Carter Middle School.

The Albuquerque Police Department is conducting a criminal investigation into the allegations and a police spokesperson confirmed an investigation is underway but said no criminal charges have been filed.
Albuquerque Public Schools Superintendent Winston Brooks has been quoted in news media reports as stating that Sanchez-Trujillo confessed to a sexual relationship with a student.

It seems that countless stories on the news about female teachers losing their jobs, teaching credentials which took years of college to get, and going to jail is no obstacle for these women. A psychologist should study this trend.
