Soon after handing over their Weapons to the Armed Forces yesterday(09)Leader of the LTTE breakaway faction TMVP and Chief Minister of the Eastern Provincial Council in Sri Lanka Pillayan announced the dissolvement of the Party's Military Wing.

TMVP Military Wing handover around 150 Weapons and 7000 Rounds of Ammunitions to the Eastern Commander Brigadier Sampath Fernando last  Evening at a Ceremony held in Webber Stadium in the Batticloe District.Most of the TMVP Cadres who were handover their Weapons will joined the Army and the rest will be given Self Employment opportunities Chief Minister Pillayan said during the function.

Main Opposition United National Party(UNP) and several Foreign Ambassadors here urged the Government to disarmed the Armed Groups citing the TMVP which was carrying Arms due to the threats of LTTE.TMVP Leader Pillayan said during the ceremony today that the  Sri Lankan Forces now defeated the LTTE and no need to keep the  Weapons with them anymore.
