Milwaukee shooter bought gun online with no background check
Radcliffe Haughton, the shooter who killed three women, including his wife Zina Haughton at a Brookfield spa, seems to have bought the gun he used to commit the massacre, online. He bought the gun only days after a judge ordered him to turn in all the firearms he possessed. The website sells arms with no questions asked. This is a huge loophole in how we regulate guns in the United States. Another big loophole are gun shows where you can buy a gun with no questions asked, at a gun show. Thousands of guns are bought by felons and those barred from weapons, every year.
Frankly, I don't really care if a non-violent felon convicted of check forgery has a gun. They aren't a threat. I care about those convicted of violent assault and murder being able to buy a gun. Police can't be everywhere, so we shouldn 't make it easier for those who are violent and unstable, to get guns. That's just common sense.
Oh by the way, I wrote recently about Indiana Congressman Richard Mourdock who stated, "I think that even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen." I thought he had meant that the rape was intended by a god, but some on his fellow Christian right-wing attempted to defend his comments by saying he meant that only the pregnancy was intenteded by this god, not the rape itself. If this is their defense, that is pretty pathetic. So instead of this god intending a rape he is only going to give a "gift" of the woman being preganant with her rapist baby? What kind of gift is that? What an awful so called gift.
Why couldn't he have given a gift of say, stopping the rape in the first place? After all, he is supposedly all powerful and all knowing. Now, I thought Mourdock was referring to the rape as being intended instead of the pregnancy because for some reason I had assumed someone like Mourdock knew something about biology and science, him being a member of Congress and all. After all, one can't get pregnant unless someone has sex, either through rape or consensual sex. Mourdock and people like him believe though that this deity magically makes women pregnant afterwards. Such as in a twisted immaculate conception at the supposed virgin birth of one Mary to one baby Jesus.
