Mimi Alford Book: Details of Affair with John F. Kennedy
Former White House intern Mimi Alford opens up about her affair with JFK in her explosive new book, "Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with President John F. Kennedy and Its Aftermath".
The Daily Mail published disturbing details revealed in the memoir, among them an accusation that JFK forced the 19-year old to ingest a sex drug against her will, and that he coerced her into performing a sex act on an aide for his viewing pleasure.
Mrs. Alford, who was known as 19-year-old Mimi Beardsley during her time as a White House intern, claims her affair with Kennedy, then 48, began in 1962, after the president took her on a private tour of the White House that ended in the First Lady's bedroom. Here, she says, JFK took her virginity.
In her book, Alford says Kennedy never kissed her and that she always referred to him as "Mr. President," even while they were intimate.
During a party at Bing Crosby's Hollywood ranch, Kennedy allegedly offered Alford amyl nitrate, a sex-enhancing drug.
On another occasion, Kennedy reportedly cajoled Alford into performing a sexual service for David Powers, who was the Special Assistant to the President.
"It was a dare, but I knew exactly what he meant. This was a challenge to give Dave Powers oral sex. I don't think the president thought I'd do it, but I'm ashamed to say that I did... The president silently watched," Alford reportedly wrote.
Despite the things that scared her, Alford says their sex life was “varied and fun” and describes an affair that was more than just sex. They apparently spent an “inordinate amount of time taking baths” and listened to music together. Although he never kissed her on the lips, he confided in her during key personal and professional moments, such as when his infant son died and during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Alford’s identity was first revealed in 2003 when Robert Dallek published portions of a 1964 oral history that described the affair. A press aide had described the affair to a researcher but had asked that it be kept secret. Dallek convinced her to release the interview for his book. The New York Daily News then tracked down Marion Fahnestock, who, faced with a media frenzy, confirmed the affair.
In 2009, the New York Times wrote that Alford was working on a memoir. Random House’s executive editor said she bought the book after seeing 20 pages, noting it would have “an extraordinary heart and soul.” The editor also insisted that Alford’s “just not that type of person, where she’s going to spill her guts about intimate stuff for the whole country to see.”
Alford was not the only intern with sexual relations and affairs with Kennedy. Hugh Sidey, who covered Kennedy at the White House, wrote in Time, confirming that “there was a Mimi,” adding, “there was also a Pam, a Priscilla, a Jill (actually, two of them), a Janet, a Kim, a Mary and a Diana I can think of offhand.”

Was she "Fiddle" or "Faddle"?
The real story here is how predation seems to come with the office (pun intended).

The men who seek the presidency are full blown narcissists, so to speak.
