The Missile Crisis of the Japanese Sea is escalating further.

The Missile escalation of the Japanese Sea.
Japan is to deploy the first ship-based long-range missile defence system, said Japanese Defence Minister Yasukazu Hamada in Tokyo Yesterday.
The Anti-Missile defence system named the "Son of Star Wars," has already been installed aboard Japanese Destroyer in anticipation of a North Korean Missile test or in the event of an attack with possibly nuclear war heads from North Korea.
Japan official expect Pyongyang to move ahead with their rocket lunch. Japan intend to use its anti missile defence system only if so required due to malfunctioning Rocket test from North Korea or an attack protecting its civil population and Islands. Japan has no plan or intention to retaliate with its own Missiles. The “Son of Star Wars” is meant solely as a self-defence system to protect Japan from North Korea’s Rockets.
However, the Japanese Defence Minister Yasukazu Hamada also said that
"If it is capable of reaching Japan then it goes without saying that we will react," and further that "Japan has been making preparations, including BMD (ballistic missile defence), for any incident which could affect Japan. If it will affect Japan then it will be our target."
This new development could have a tragic outcome for the northeast Asian region, analysts said. This move will most likely further deteriorate relation between Japan and South Korea as well as with China and Russia and it may very well enrage North Korea. The time for this sort of aggressive move is ill advised and may in deed cause more trouble for Japan then help it improve its place and its relation with adjacent states and trade partners.
Should Japan make a single mistake and fail in any attempt to bring down a North Korean rocket, it would not only find it self internationally humiliated but moreover have it position dramatically weakened and lose all respect with in Asia. A peaceful approach and diplomacy would have been a better toll here and given long-term benefits for Japan so stated by some annalist and experts in the matter.
North Korea on the other hand does claim that its Rocket lunch is peaceful and a program to lunch a communication Satellite after having conducted the test needed to that purpose.
South Korea for its part claims that its secret service is reporting that North Korea is making ballistic missiles with nuclear war heads. Having acquire 40 Kg of Plutonium for that very purpose.
The U.N. Nuclear wash dog the IAEA urges in the mean time North Korea to make progress on nuclear issues. This latest IAEA statement comes at a time when the international community starts having serious concerns about North Korea's reported plans to launch a long-range ballistic missile.

This is really terrible news, even though I don't know as much as I could about it. I don't like reading this news at all (but the piece is good)

The only way to get rid of the nukes is to get rid of the underlying emotional, spiritual and psychological reasons for the nukes' existence in the first place. So, how to do that?
They cannot be legislated away, as much we don't like them.
Those nukes are also the main reason that the superpowes don't engage in war with each other. They know there will not be real winners. That allowed the Soviet Union to fail on its own terms, leaving a great history lesson for the world about Marxist-Leninism.

The thought of everyone in the region standing ready with their hand on the button brings back shades of the cold war and those were not pretty shades.

"The Anti-Missile defense system named the "Son of Star Wars," has already been installed aboard Japanese Destroyer in anticipation of a North Korean Missile attack with nuclear wear heads."
this part of your post is just alarmist, no one is anticipating a North Korean Missile attack with nukes, which anyway they ain't capable of doing, but they could be capable within a few years. Its suspected that the N. Koreans might have four or five nukes but no one knows the size of them?
They don't have a missile capable of carrying a nuke.
If a N. Korean missile enters Japanese territory, then of course they need to do their best to stop it.
I believe in 2006, a N. Korean missile passed over Japanese air space.

Being to close for comfort my self and now seeing why China is un-dating its military defense system.
When north Korea tests a nuke, that's the real time to worry and your see a very worried China more worried than Japan and South Korea.
