Missing girl Sandra Cantu found dead
Do we ever get tired of hearing this? We need to get the perps off the street, first we have to identify them. I'm so sick of hearing of another child dying. This is become as common as giving birth now days. How can we put a stop to this horrific crime who can really keep our children safe?
Authorities found the body of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu in a suitcase in a dairy-farm pond near her California home.
The girl had been missing since March 27 from her home in Tracy, California. Police did not identify a suspect.
News of the girl's death devastated her family, Tracy police spokesman Tony Sheneman said.
"They have just experienced the unimaginable," Sheneman said.
The day Sandra was last seen, she came home from school, kissed her mother and left to play with a friend who lives a couple of homes away. A short time later, she left that home to go to another friend's home, according to a spokeswoman for her family.
The child was last seen by her family wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings.
Authorities identified her body by the clothes she was wearing, Sheneman said.
Earlier in the investigation, police released surveillance video that showed the child in the mobile home park where she lives skipping and happily swinging her arms on the day she disappeared. They had hoped to get tips with the eight-second video.
On Monday, they got a tip about the dairy farm.
Workers on the farm were getting water from a retention pond when the black suitcase came to the surface of the water, police said.

I'm at a loss for words here, i too grieve for the parents who will carry this senseless tragedy to their graves. Obviously, she was murdered, that i have no doubt of. When the perpetrator or perpetrator's are caught by either our failed system of justice or gods perfect system of justice. rest assured he or she is definitely going to get what's coming to them.

This is another reason the concept of Neighborhood watch is a good idea. Realistically the how can one live a life if they are "watching". Even old ladies don't have time. Thefact that there are never many people in the homes for they are all working so it makes it easyfor criminals to hit. Children are given way too much responsibility before they are capableof being confronted with strangers. They deserve supervision. They deserve protection!
We are in a culture now that we must say no to the freedoms we had of playing in other's yards and houses unless we know there are other attentive adults.
Yes Ravinwood there will be justice for all but there are consequences immediately too.
What can our society do about this? It really is the Parents ultimate responsibility to supervise them. At least until they are of a certain age of understanding. I never wanted my childrento fear their neighbors or Uncle So n So so I knew where they were. I was fortunate that I was a stay at home Mom until they were 12.
I don't know what the story is concerning the neighbor who kissed her in the mouth. That is a helluva red flag for a parent .
Big Brother can't have enough camera's even to catch the sly perverts.

You are so right on with that, if we had the neighborhood watches as we did in the past I don't think we'd have as many of our children missing. Remember when? Neighbors use to talk and be friends watch each others backs. Those days are gone! So sad those days were when you could play in your yard and not worry about your children. We watched out for each others.
If a grown man kissed my child in the mouth he better be prepared to answer to the cops! Thank you for your great comment QueensHart!
