Missing Man Found With Loaded Gun, Alcohol
BOULDER, Colo. -- A Boulder man missing since Oct. 5 was found Tuesday night holding a gun and a bottle of wine. Boulder police said James “Jim” McPhee, 34, knocked on the door of a home inthe 800 block of 7th Street in Boulder and asked the resident for help. He was carrying a loaded .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver and a bottle of Corbett Canyon Merlot, which was half-empty, said police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley.The resident noticed the gun and took it from McPhee without incident. The resident called 911. When officers arrived, McPhee was on the ground. He appeared to be disoriented and was continuing to ask for help. McPhee was taken to Boulder Community Hospital for evaluation and remains under medical care.
The 34-year-old husband and father of two was has told investigators he remembers events prior to about 4 p.m. the day he disappeared, but he has no memory of anything that has happened to him since, Huntley said. McPhee said he doesn't know where he stayed while he was away, what he did during that time or where he got the gun and the wine, she said.Detectives said they will continue to investigate the case to determine if any crime has been committed.

Boulder police are offering a reward of $1,000 for information that leads to the safe return of a bus driver who went missing earlier this month.
Police said James "Jim" McPhee went missing on Oct. 5. He left his mother-in-law's home at about 4 p.m. and hasn't been seen since.
McPhee said he was going to drop off some DVDs at a library. Investigators said they learned McPhee did drop off the DVD's but they have no further clues about his disappearance.
