The MNJ in Niger, has suffered losses yet took control of Arlit and the Uranium Mine

The War goes on... July 03,2008, the FAN (Niger's Armed Forces) Have tried to take Arlit, yet had to pull back. It is reported that as they puled back the FAN had poisoned all Wells making the water unsuitable for Humans and animals alike! This means death in the desert and does affect all Farmers and Nomads alike in the area! One can conceder this as criminal Actions!

Today on the 1th of July 2008 Update!

Rumours has it, as Radio Niger has reported, that Tripoli, (Libya) will support the MNJ Government in Niger! Libya has not commented on any of this other then that a Delegation from the MNJ has been in Tripoli for meetings with the Libyan Government!

On the 28th, 29th and 30th of June the MNJ (Niger's movement for Justice) has suffered some losses among their troops in the confrontation with Mercenaries and Soldiers from the Southern Niger Government.

In the altercation the Vice President of the MNJ Asharif Mohamed-Almoctar has been Killed as well as 3 more of his closes associates!

Nevertheless the MNJ has managed to shoot down another MI 24 Assault Helicopter from the Niger Government and seems to have taken control over Arlit and the Uranium Mines in the Air Mountain of Niger. 

The Niger Government has reportedly suffered sever losses, both in equipment and Soldiers, giving the Tuareg lead MNJ another victory in the madness of this war!

The President of the MNJ Aghall Alambo, states that the MNJ has no ambition to overthrow the Government in the South nor to seek Independence that would divide Niger into two countries. The MNJ main objective as Mister Aghall Alambo points out, is Justice and freedom for the Tuareg and other minorities in Niger not more Blood shed.

The MNJ demands,  a Tuareg Minister and chief of staff in the Government of Niger as well as other minorities to be represented in the Government. Further the MNJ does seem to want free movement for the Tuaregs and a release of all prisoners! 

Aghall Alambo president of the MNJ gives assurances that all Niger soldiers taken Prisoners by the MNJ as well as the Mercenaries will be treated in accord with all international laws of war and the Geneva convention!

It seems as if the Tuareg lead MNJ is gaining back control of the Dessert and the Air Mountain that have been their home land for well over 2000 years now!
