Model falls to death after learning boyfriend was married

Sahar Daftary, 24, from London, fell from one of the 17-storey NV Buildings in Salford Quays over the weekend. Police are investigating her death. Friends say Miss Daftary disappeared from a show at a Manchester restaurant on Saturday afternoon - the first time she had visited the city from her London home since splitting with her property developer boyfriend a couple of months ago. They say she went to the 12th floor flat to collect some belongings after an acrimonious split from the boyfriend - who has not been named - she declared her love for at a special ceremony earlier this year. They were stunned to hear she had died just hours later, despite paramedics' desperate efforts to save her.
