More Illegals Returning to Mexico

Although they may not be leaving in droves, there is evidence showing that more illegal immigrants are giving up on life in Arizona and returning to Mexico.

The Mexican Consulate in Phoenix said more people have applied for transfer documents to return to Mexico this year than in the past two years combined.

So far this year, 752 illegal immigrants have visited the consulate to apply for transfer documents to be able to re-enroll their children in Mexican schools - compared to 248 people in 2006 and 330 people in 2007.

Most of those returning to Mexico cite the sudden scarcity of jobs, fear of deportation and uncertainty about obtaining legal resident status.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said enforcement of measures such as the Arizona Employer Sanctions Law is working.

"When you do have a vigorous program to enforce those laws, it's going to have an impact on the illegal alien community," said Vincent Picard of ICE.  Click here to listen to Picard's entire interview on Phoenix station 550 KFYI.

ICE has removed about 40,000 illegal immigrants from Arizona this year.

Wow, imagine that, enforcement DOES work.  If all states enforced illegal alien laws ALREADY on the books of the US, they'd ALL leave or be deported NOW.  The gravy train MUST be stopped!! No anchor baby citizenship, no benefits to illegals and voila, they LEAVE!!!

it's only because of the jobs. It's too expensive to live here without a job. Just go back to Mexico and chill out until the economy picks back up. It's kind of like a vacation.

The ones I know personally don't really care about the laws or deportation. They'll just risk it until they get caught. All you get is a free ticket back home anyways.

They aren't returning from the Bay Area, where I live. In fact they're just coming in daily. I work for the school district, they can't speak English, they are given welfare, places to live, free school lunches, free bilingual classes that they never leave, free healthcare, free food stamps.

In many counties, for instance in Sonoma and Marin, they are doing almost 100% of the CRIME!

Don't believe the latest press stories about illegals leaving for Mexico. It is a fabrication by the left so that the right can't use it against the Obama and so that the Ameican people think the problem is resolved.

The fact is illegal immirgration is on the rise. Just ask Maricopa County Residents in Arizona, or residents in San Diego, Los Angeles or any other major American city.  The shame is the two governments could work out a very profitable and usefull arrangement by allocating workers from Mexico to America which would help these people gain respect, but both governemts are completely corrupt and we will never see that happen. I hope Mexicans realize that most Americans feel that way. We are not anti-Mexican. We just don't like to see our governemt so comletely out of control.
