The Fiji brand is owned by US argi-billionaires, and has strong connections to celebrity culture and progressive politics, especially the environmental movement. The company says Fiji water is not just good for the environment - it is carbon negative; and drinking will help reduce carbon in the atmosphere. But journalist Anna Lenzner, argues that Fiji water legitimises the military dictatorship in Fiji, and makes exaggerated claims about the product's environmental credentials.
