Most rape cases in Nepal occurred in day light

There has been a startling and interesting revelation in Nepal in a study about the sexual abuse cases against women and children in Nepal. The study found that most of the cases of sexual abuses against women and children have been recorded in the daylight. Interestingly the study found that most of the rapists were unmarried.

Most cases of sexual abuse against women and children have been recorded in daylight. 

According to a joint Nepal Police and Women and Children Service Centre report, out of 382 rape cases reported last year 234 occurred in daylight. Of them, 90 were recorded to have occurred in the morning and 144 in the afternoon. As per the report, highest number of sexual abuse occurred on Sunday — 71.

Some 395 persons have been victimised. Of them, 265 are below 16 years of age.

The report says, among the victims 219 are literate, 81 are illiterate and 93 have completed school level. Only, two of them have finished intermediate level.
